Pesaro was the birthplace of world-wide known composer Gioacchino Rossini, so they created a festival in his name in 1980.The opera is on Via Rossini 37, with the event lasting for 2 weeks in mid or late August. Tickets range from 17 to 108$, consult www.rossinioperafestival.it. The town is charming due to its piazzas and always crowded cafes.
