I know about a hotel called d'Este that is quite cheap and has good rooms for rent. A room for one person is 50-120 euro (the difference is so big because rooms can be very different... one is larger, other is more elegant, with more facilities and so on). Those with 2 beds cost 60-140 euro. You must go to Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore and from that place find Via Carlo Alberto 4b.
