katia's question:
My friends recommend me to go to Piazza San Giovanni as soon as I'll get to Rome. Why is the area so important?(give a different answer) .
In the past there was a chapel only the pope could enter... it's called Sancta Sanctorum. It can be seen today in Piazza San Giovanni, at the top of Scala Santa... that's why the square is a special site in Rome. Inside the chapel one the 13th-century frescos represents the "Image of the Most Holy Saviour"; it is so sacred that they say no human hand could have painted it. Admission is 3 euro
