I think all the museums and galleries and monuments from Rome couldn't attract too much a child. something more fun?(give a different answer) .
take the train and get off at Orte and Attigliano station and then ask someone there to tell you where to find il Parco dei Mostri a Bomarzo. This is a park displaying grotesque sculptures like dragons or ogres.... it's not very educative but kids find it funny and entertaining. For children aged 4-8 entrance ticket is 7euro and for the rest 8euro.
