akkasi's question:
I saw Dolce Vita, the film, and as I intend to visit Rome I want to see the beautiful fountain used as a setting in the movie. Can you tell me more about it? What does it represent for Italians?(give a different answer) .
It is called Fontana di Trevi and it is located in Piazza di Crociteri, six blocks northeast from the Pantheon. Built in Baroque style it was designed by Nicola Salvi in 1732 and represents Neptune's chariot being led by tritons and sea horses. The custom is to throw a coin into the fountain over your shoulder, while facing away, so that you return to Rome, one day, and, a second coin grants a wish.
