The Palatine in Rome

Posted 1 year ago by avatar lizette in response to jhon's question: What remains of the Roman Empire are left in the Palatine of Rome? (give a different answer) .

The Palatine is actually a hill, where the wealthiest citizens of Rome set up their houses. Actually, the earliest settlements in the area started on this historical hill, and the city is claimed to have been founded by Romulus. The Emperor himself had his castle here, a marble opulent labirynth. Gardens were established on the Palatine in Renaissance, after the place was swallowed by ruin.
