house's question:
I've heard many things about the catacombs of Rome. How can I get to see them?(give a different answer) .
The most famous of the 3 catacombs located along Via Appia Antica is the Catacombs of San Callisto; admission costs 5 euro. They were found at the end of the 2nd century and after excavations they revealed the sepulchres of 500,000 people and 7 tombs of martyred Roman popes. Closed on February and the rest of the year it's open from Thu to Tue, 8.30am-noon & 2.30-5pm.
