The most helpful tourist office I know is Rome Tourist Board. I get the information from their website www.romaturismo.it, but for those who want to get to their location I inform them it's on Via Parigi St. The staff can tell you where to rest over night in the city, which itinerary is best to choose or what are the most exciting things to be done.
