The historical centre of Sorrento

Posted 1 year ago by sasha in response to silverfox's question: I'm going to visit some friends in Sorrento soon. What does the old centre contain? (give a different answer) .

Well, the center is synonim with via Pieta, via S. Cesareo, via Padre Reginaldo Giuliani and via Tasso. In Pieta street, two 18 th century palaces will emerge, Veniero Palace and the Correale Palace, spreading an Arab-Byzantine air. On Tasso and Reginaldo, the smell of home-cooked bread and sweets just taken out of oven will enchant you...added to this, there's the noisy hard-working hammers of the masters of marquetry, an art born between '700 and '800. Via San Cesareo shows "Dominava", the meeting place of the nobility in Sorrento.
