Celebrations in Venice

Posted 1 year ago by avatar lizette in response to adonis's question: What are the happiest times of the year in Venice...? I wanna see the city sizzling. (give a different answer) .

During the Carnevale, Venice's last-knees-up-before-Lent, the city is on fire, babycakes...I mean people go crazy under that masks and costumes, taking advantage that they can't be easily recognized. On the first Sunday in September, that's a hotspot, too. The festival Regata Storica brings gondola races on the Grand Canal...awesome!!! A third goodie is Feste del'Laure, when students mock at their graduating collegues by spreading caricatures and posters all over the town. That's in March and November, and everybody is stiff-drunk. Aloha, pumpkin!
