You must first go to the Basilica di San Marco (in Piazza San Marco). Beneath the altar is this famous 10th centuty altarpiece made in Constantinopole. It can be visited only from 9.45am to 4.45pm (on Mon-Sat) and from2 to 5pm on Sunday. To visit it you must pay 1.5 euro.
