What is the role of the Palazzo Ducale in Venice? Can it be visited?(give a different answer) .
Sure, 9.50 euros entrance tax, before 4.30 pm, but it's a multiple ticket including Museo Correr, Biblioteca Marciana and Museo Archeologico. The palace is home to the doges and seat of the republic's government, while in the past it included the prisons of Venice. What I found striking was actually the Ponte dei Sospiri, that separates the dungeons from the Palazzo. The sighs were the moans of the convicted heading for executions, while they had their last look on Venice. Sad.
