in venice there isn't only one office of this kind... just that some don't operate on winter. That is why I recommend 'Piazza San Marco', the main tourist office; it's open bet 9am & 3.30pm om Mon, Tue,..., Sat. The information you get here refers to what to visit first in Venice, where to look for cheap accomodation or which are the best boat trips round the city.
